Transnational IT project experience to share

Since the Spring Festival in the Year of the Rat, the pandemic has gone through stages like panic, closure, self-control and quarantine; such situation is breathtaking like roller coaster. As of May, the overall domestic situation has tended to be better, and the work of the pandemic prevention in all walks of life has gradually shifted to a long-term normal process.

However, by contrast to the domestic situation, foreign countries in the covid-19 prevention and control is becoming more and more severe. Many of them have chosen to various measures to prevent the spread like travel restrictions and a policy of seclusion. Such restrictions or policies in turn have caused unprecedented blockage in their transnationally managed projects

Under such circumstance, Geewell engineers were faced a multinational IT project. For instance, according to the original engineering plan, a data center of a foreign customer in core node Beijing must be accessible in mid-April to timely carry its main business on the entire China’s market. But at the end of March, the foreign collaboration team couldn’t travel home and abroad because their local policies and Chinese Customs regulations changed, they were unable to catch up in time to implement project in China.

When that client project manager responsible for Beijing’ project was worried about the access of the data center, on the principle of “innovation and consistency”, Geewell's engineers in just one week took charge of the planning and preparation to complete meticulous work from arrival of goods, pre-commissioning, stand-alone function verification, package delivery, on-site cable management in Beijing, and cooperation with overseas engineers for troubleshooting before the access.

Geewell’s engineer team always keeps “putting customer first” in mind. They did not have any rest during this Qingming holiday. They were running on two shifts to perfectly finish this project so they were praised by the customer's overseas headquarter and the domestic business group.

“ It is a miracle!” raved the project leader in America, “It will take at least one month for our overseas engineer team to finish such project of accessible data center but Geewell actually completed it within 6 days from arrival of goods to its access.”
